We’re excited to announce that four of our pillows have been GREENGUARD Gold certified by UL Environment: the Original Pillow, Eden Pillow, Travel and Camping Pillow, and Toddler Pillow.
While this is a massive accomplishment for us, we’re sure there are some of you who are scratching your head wondering what that even means. Don’t worry, we’ll explain.
What is GREENGUARD Gold, anyway?
GREENGUARD Gold Certification offers strict certification criteria, considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
Products that have achieved GREENGUARD Gold Certification undergo dynamic environmental chamber testing and meet some of the world’s most rigorous, third-party chemical emissions standards—helping reduce indoor air pollution and the risk of chemical exposure while aiding in the creation of healthier indoor environments.
TL;DR? It’s essentially receiving the gold medal in terms of product safety, so we’re as proud as can be.
What does this mean for us?
It’s all about you, our treasured customer. We want to be able to provide the safest option for our customers, which boils down to one of our key philosophies: we wouldn’t want to sell anything that we wouldn’t use ourselves or feel comfortable giving to our loved ones.
Our bed pillows are now GREENGUARD, GREENGUARD Gold, and CertiPUR-US certified, making them the most certified pillows out there and a true triple threat.
With our GREENGUARD Gold certification, we’re completely confident in saying that our pillows have reached the peak certification in terms of product safety. The certification process took several months, but we know that it was well worth the wait.
Why certification matters
The grim reality is that many products out there emit hazardous chemicals that can harm your health in the long run. To make matters worse, not many pillows have achieved GREENGUARD Gold Certification—and that’s something people lay their heads on!
In fact, the average house’s indoor air quality is four to five times more polluted than outdoor air. If you want to read more about the how indoor air quality affects your sleep and overall health, we have a blog post all about it.
It’s celebration time
Cue the party poppers and confetti. Now that you know all about GREENGUARD Gold Certification, we hope you’ll join us in doing a happy dance! It’s an accomplishment for us, but it means complete safety and quality sleep for you. Cheers to health and happiness, dreamers.
